Principal’s Message
Welcome to Comet Bay Primary School
We look forward to your involvement and positive interactions with Comet Bay Primary School.
At Comet Bay Primary School we pride ourselves on creating strong partnerships with our parents and the wider school community. Our motto at Comet Bay is ‘Growing Together’ and we welcome your assistance and input at various levels within the school.
We place great value on communicating with our school community and this website gives you a general overview of the operations of the school. We also have a number of other communication methods including our School App, Newsletter, Facebook page and our P&C Association.
Comet Bay Primary School has established a positive reputation in the local community and in the wider education community. This was highlighted through our school being a finalists in the WA Education Awards in the category of Primary School of the Year.
We have established a strong culture of developing the ‘whole child’ under our vision to “Inspire lifelong learning”. Healthy eating through participation in the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen, gardening, tending to the chooks, learning music, developing art skills and engaging in our physical education programme are all just part of a normal day for our students at Comet Bay. Our sustainability focus has seen the installation of solar panels on all of our buildings with a monitoring system installed to educate our students and community. We are well advanced within our implementation of the new Australian Curriculum with high expectations for all students in their literacy and numeracy achievement. Learning Support co-ordinators are employed to assist staff in developing individual education plans for students who require additional support with their learning. There are many leadership opportunities for our students and our multi aged group classes reduces the number of transitions between teachers for students, provides opportunity for students to learn from each other, widen their friendship circles and develop their resilience skills. Our Tribes social model has been an effective whole school strategy which has been embraced by the wider community.
Research clearly indicates that a positive relationship between the home and school, and potential involvement with the school from parents, enhances your child’s educational outcomes. We look forward to working together to ensure the best social, emotional, creative and academic outcomes for your child.
Should you have any queries or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
Welcome to Comet Bay
